코로나로 중단되었던 미라마 에어쇼를 마침 올해부터 다시 시작한다고 해서 다녀 왔다.
미라마에 있는 해군 기지인 MCAS에서 진행되는데 남의 나라 군대에 들어간다니까 조금 긴장이 되었다.
입구에 진입하니 수많은 군인들이 차량을 통제하고 있었는데 수신호에 따라 한참 들어가니 주차장이 나타났다.
입장을 할 때 시민권/영주권이 있는 사람들의 줄과 외국인들의 줄이 나뉘는데 8:2 정도의 비율로 구성되어 있어 외국인들은 한참 기다려야 한다.
옆에서 투명 가방을 팔고 있는데 이게 기념품의 역할도 하지만 실용적인 이유는 투명 가방이 아니면 입장이 되지 않기 때문이다.
PERMITTED ITEMS
- Keys, makeup, feminine products, comb, phone, wallet, credit cards, etc. in your pockets if you choose not to put them in a clear bag or clutch
- One large clear bag per person is allowed
- A one-gallon Ziploc bag or commercially purchased clear bag plus a small clutch for personal items
- Easily searched large PVC vinyl clear bags
- Clear seat cushions and seat pads without pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers are permitted
- Snacks and water bottles
- Wagons (i.e. radio flyers) and strollers
- Service animals
- Laptop computers/iPads, if brought in a clear bag. No laptop bags/briefcase bags will be permitted.
- Binoculars/cameras
- Beach folding chairs, lawn chairs, and stadium chairs
PROHIBITED ITEMS
- Coolers/ice chests are NOT permitted with the exception for medically necessary items which are permitted after proper inspection at a specified lane at each gate
- Large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers are not permitted
- Outside alcoholic beverages
- FRS/GMRS radios, VHF band and other scanners
- Transmitters/trans-receivers
- Bags, purses, totes, backpacks and other types of baggage other than bags conforming to the clear bag policy will not be permitted
- Weapons of any kind (regardless of permit) to include, but not limited to firearms, knives (including pocket knives and multi-tools), replica or toy weapons, pepper spray, mace, stun guns, and martial arts weapons.
- Outside alcoholic beverages
- Ice chests or coolers that are not medically required
- Pets (other than service animals)
- Glass containers
- Bicycles, roller skates, roller blades, scooters (kick and electric), skateboards, or hoverboards
- Personal drones (i.e. quad or hex copters) are not allowed to operate on Federal Property or airspace.
- Lasers or laser pointers
- Tents, pop-ups, canopies
- Hand umbrellas are allowed but are NOT authorized in the Grandstands or Box Seating at any time
- Tailgating/BBQ
자세한 사항은 홈페이지의 FAQ를 확인해 보면 되는데 금지 품목에 불투명한 가방이 포함되어 있다.
손지갑 정도의 작은 파우치는 허용이 되는 것 같은데 큰 파우치, 핸드백, 가방, 에코백 모두 금지되는 것 같았다.
줄이 잘 줄지 않는데 나중에 겪어 보니 외국인들은 더 꼼꼼하게 신체 / 물품 검증을 하기 때문인 것 같았다.
군사 시설이라 테러가 발생할 수도 있으니 이해는 하지만 그럴 거면 부스라도 좀 더 늘려주지.
이후에 옆에 부스로 이동해서 지문 등록을 했다.
단말기를 사용해서 열 손가락 지문을 등록하는데 모든 절차가 완료되면 인증 목걸이를 준다.
이 목걸이를 한 번 획득하면 에어쇼 기간 중에 계속 사용할 수 있고 입장할 때 시민권 / 영주권 라인으로 입장 가능하다.
에어쇼가 금/토/일 3일간 진행되므로 사람이 적은 평일에 미리 목걸이를 받아서 주말에 사용하는 방법도 있을 것 같다.
수많은 부스가 있고
비행기들도 구경할 수 있도록 전시되어 있는데 나중에는 비행기를 구경하는 사람보다 그늘에 앉아서 해를 피하는 사람이 더 많았다.
입장은 무료지만 준비된 좌석에 앉으려면 티켓을 구매하여야 하는데 당일에는 대부분의 좌석들이 매진되어 있었다.
나는 최대한 돈을 아껴 보려고 서쪽에 있는 WEST OPEN BLANKET SEAT에 접이식 의자를 펴고 앉아서 관람 했는데 대부분 보이기는 했지만 앞 사람에게 가려서 잘 보이지 않는 경우도 있었다.
에어쇼를 모두 즐기고 싶다면 $10 정도 하는 그랜드 스탠드에라도 앉아서 보는 게 좋을 것 같은데 또 그 좌석은 우산을 못 펴게 해서 땡볕에 노출되는 단점도 있긴 하다.
그늘도 있고 편한 좌석은 가격이 좀 되는 편이고.
10시부터 4시까지 약간의 텀을 두고 에어쇼가 계속 진행이 된다.

에어쇼를 보면서 준비해 간 도시락을 먹고 쉬엄쉬엄 푸드 부스에서 간식거리도 사 먹고 이벤트 부스에도 참여하고 하면서 즐겁게 하루를 보냈다.
그리고 에어쇼의 하이라이트인 블루엔젤스.
사실 이 쇼를 보기 위해서 미라마 에어쇼에 왔다고 해도 과언이 아니다.
역시나 제일 화려하고 박진감이 넘치는 쇼였다.
예전에 서울공항에서 봤던 블랙 이글스가 더 나은 것 같긴 한데 블루엔젤스도 멋있엇다.
블루엔젤스의 에어쇼가 끝나고 집에 가는데 나가는 길이 이차선이라 차가 빠지지를 않는다.
1시간 이상 대기해서 간신히 빠져 나올 수 있었다.
땡볕에 힘들긴 했지만 때가 맞아 에어쇼를 볼 수 있게 되어 다행이었던 것 같다.
자석 안 파는 곳은 또 처음이긴 하네.
